Your Favorite Horror Movie is:
Just wondering what everybody likes best out there. Scariest, goriest, whatever it takes... Just your favorite for whatever reason! I vote Re-Animator. Scary, funny, nekkid chicks, reanimated severed mad scientist heads  , strangling in-*test*-('")ines, Lovecraft influence... Everything one needs for a good time!

Hmm...I know the movie that 'disturbed' me enough to give me the willies and nightmares to boot was 'THE GRUDGE'....Something about that creepy little japanese boy.... I don't really have a favorite though...I do normally prefer 'monster' movies to 'slasher' flicks.

I tend to avoid horror shows cause I'm a big chicken. But zombie flicks don't scare me at all for some reason :) The only two movies I was stupid enough to watch was the Ring and the Ring 2 (japanese version) scared me shitless. Saw both at home on cable, jumped out of my sofa when my phone went off....

My all time fav films are the LOTR trilogy.......as for horror..I prefer the gothic kind..........vampires,cool locations and scnery ,plenty of atmosphere. I love films like Van Helsing and The Mummy, but they are a bit too comedic and not really creepy enough to be truly"horror" Similar with the "Blade " films, really good fun ,but really action movies with vampires! The "Ring" and the "Grudge" were brilliant, spooky atmosphere and plenty of suspense. One type that doesnt interest me are the gorefest, slash and hack films. Think the best horror are more supernatural, although the "Aliens" series seems like really good sci fi/horror with aliens instead of supernatural entities.

I have to agree on the Grudge, not often I switch the channel when watching a horror. I love Zombie flicks though and would say these are my Favourites whether the zombie is fast or slow

Event Horizon for me had me crapping myself and still does

Leigh- 06-15-2006

Yeah have always rated Event Horizon too. All time favs? Wow I can't just pick one! Off the TOMH- mix of classics and newer stuff; 10. Hellraiser 2 9. House of 1000 Corpses 8. Wrong Turn 7. Cabin Fever 6. Scarecrows 5. The Zero Boys 4. Aliens 3. The Descent 2. Dead Birds 1. The Thing

S1ND3X- 06-15-2006

man i completely forget house of 1000 corpses, it doesn't take favorite spot, but it is awesome the Thing was also really cool, but more for the concept and the quotes rather than the actual film Hellraiser 2 was good, but i prefered numbers 5 & 6, especially 5, gotta find 7 & 8 at some point

Leigh- 06-16-2006

Hey are you the guy sculpting those new modern zombies??? If you are I'm interested.

The Thing was great.....got a second hand VHS copy from a charity shop! Must get the dvd. I really loved the original Salems Lot ,has anyone seen the update? When I saw the original on TV there a bit where a vampire was scratching the glass window of someones bedroom.Because I was decorating I had no curtains up and it was as foggy outside as on the film........an insect starting flapping against my window and for a moment I darent look!

Man that scene scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. That and for some reason the scene where the crew from the Nostromo come across the dead alien gunner. Weird eh? And buy The Thing DVD- the extras are awesome. I'm praying that Guillermo Del Toro will finally start shooting that other classic of Arctic horror- The Mountains of Madness...

Geoff B- 06-17-2006

Yeah , I will keep an eyeout for the dvd. A mark of a good horror is plenty of suspense with a few "jump off the sofa" moments, and Salems Lot had plenty.

LeadAsbestos- 09-15-2006

The Salem's Lot scene was truly terrifying. Still is. Those creepy little girls from The Shining still make me cover my eyes!

S1ND3X- 09-15-2006

Alien Abduction: The Macpherson Tape it's ruddy terrifying

No one mentioned Dog Soldiers? Now thats a perfect movie to game... I've started on the slippery slope with a set of West Wind werewolves already (ignore the poor lighting) http://www.nick101.f9.co.uk/Log/July06/DSCF0321.JPG
