Rippers: The Horror Wars Miniature Game
The monsters have lived among us for thousands of years, preying on the weak. The helpless. But mankind discovered a new weapon to fight the creatures of darkness. “Dr. Jack” developed a way to tear the very essence of these horrors from their undead flesh and graft it into living blood and bones. For many years, the “Rippers” took back the night, and the hunters became the hunted. The vile fiends of the world were backed into a corner, but under the leadership of Dracula himself, formed a “Cabal” of evil to combat those who hunted them. Their timing was perfect—for the essences the Rippers stole from their prey eventually corrupted the monster hunters. Tthe very men who created the Rippers—Moreau, Frankenstein, and even Dr. Jack himself—went mad and joined the Cabal! Now Abraham Van Helsing and his mysteriously adopted son, Johann, the Harkers, Witch Hunter Serious Chapel, and a handful of other stout hearts are all that remain of the Rippers. It is their lot to carry on the Horror War. Rippers: The Horror War is a complete 80 page miniatures skirmish game. The Savage Worlds roleplaying game is NOT required.
There is also 4 boxed sets of miniatures which are made by West Wind!

Hi Eerie,
I haven't long got Rippers and have recently had a chance to have a play with it. It has got a large range of warbands ( I love the Circus of Death ) and is pretty simple to play. The one thing I do like about it is it uses the Savage Showdown system. Because it is so open ended you can mix genres really easily. Mix Rippers with Modern Ops and ( with a little tweaking) Hey Presto you have a modern horror skirmish!
Special forces v's werewolves NO PROBLEM!
Cheers

did you get the miniature game or the rpg?

I've got the minatures game ( I already have Savage Worlds RPG ). I also have the Savage Worlds "Meta Creator" program which pretty much allows you to build any character/troop from any time period and works out the points values.
Some of the points values in Rippers and Modern Ops don't quite tally ( only a couple of points here and there ) due to special rules dedicated to a particular system. These can be reverse engineered by creating the same character in "meta creator" without the special rule to find it's value.
The main thing is to weed out any "RPG" elements ( things that don't effect tabletop combat )
I've tried a couple of play throughs and it runs really well. I'm currently working on stat cards for Modern Zombies , Modern Hunters , modern werewolves , Vampires ,Security Forces and Survivors ( aswell as strange stuff like Martians , Terminators, Aliens and Predators ) . The only thing I haven't decided on is a progression system ( rather than one off games) and rules for "uncontrolled" Zombies so there is no need for a GM.

Is the meta creator meant for the RPG or the wargame?
