I guess these are "real" critters from Japanese folklore. I remember a Bushido scenario in White Dwarf #47 (wayyyy back when...) that was based on Kwaidan, traditional Japanese ghost stories, and these monsters were among the encounters. Gotta love those Japanese for giving us some creepy stuff!
