Pappa Midnight's Modern Zombies..More Alpha Forge Zeds Added Hi,
I've been painting some Cold War modern zombies. I think they've got a lot of character!
Hope you like them.

Those look really great... I will definately be picking up some very very soon. Your bases look nice also. Do you scratch build them or just add stuff to the top? Either way they add alot to the figure.

Thanks Eerie ,
The textured bases are included with the minis. I found that because I use a lot of minis with slotta bases it made some of the zombies look a little short so I just mounted the Cold war bases on UK pennies to raise them up a bit.

I do something similar with mine using washers... The custom bases that I am doing my modern stuff with I have been using "green stuff" on top of the washer to hold the slotta mini and design the base... I am looking at perhaps using some of the epicast slotta bases just due to the mass amount of zombies that i am going to be working on.

Hey PM I was just admiring your miniatures again and im very impressed with your blood. What brand and color and technique did you use for it?
Pappa Midnight- 01-01-2006
Hi,
I always find blood a bit of a funny one really. I've tried alsorts of shades , some work and some look too red. I've found the best colour to use ( especially on zombies as the blood won't be fresh!) is Gamesworkshop's DARK FLESH. When you look at it in the pot it's a deep rust colour but it really does look quite effective as blood.
It especially looks effective on clothing as it isn't bright and looks like blood has soaked into he fabric. This has a similar effect on stonework aswell for those pools of gore!
If the wound is really fresh I use a small ammount of GW Crimson Gore around the edges of the wound aswell ( not too much as it'll look too red )
Hope that's Helpfull!
Happy New Year!

Fantastic set, I particularly like the Buhdist.
Do you have more photos of your building(s)?
Pappa Midnight- 01-01-2006
Thanks guys,
I love looking at other people's stuff ( and stealing....... I mean getting ideas!) and if anything I've done gives anyone else ideas it makes it worth while.
The building in the background is something I knocked up with some AINSTY resin parts , plasticard and foam board. I've posted some pics at Grimey Games and the Goalsystem Yahoo forum. Here they are if anyone's interested!
Have a great New Year !

Holy Crap... have you been scraping around in my mind? That is almost exactly what I am in the process of putting together. Do you have a roof for it?
Pappa Midnight- 01-01-2006
I know what you mean! I've been making something and looked on the net and thought " weird there must be a camera in my spare room!" this guy's made the same thing ( but better dammit! )
As for the roof I adapted one from WorldWorks Mayhem Armory which was ok but being a bit of a geek I wanted one with lighting. I tried to scratch build one with LEDs . Me and electrics just don't get on so after burning out 10 or so LEDs I started on something else.
I will get back to it though.
When you've done yours I'd like to see some pics!
If you need any "menu" boards for behind the counter I've got some which have been suitably altered. I must warn you though they're a little offensive!
