How to make horror rules Scarier
Hello, As I said before Im intrested in writing a set of B-movie horror rules. Well I was wondering how to make the rules more tense. I never really played any horror games so I thought you guys could help me with this.

One way it to introduce an elemnet of fear into your characters ATZ (all things Zombie) has a table/stats where the person is reduced to a babbling idiot ful of terror depending on how much horror they have seen e.g. first time they see a creature, first gory death they see etc your skills at rooling against these see whether you are a gibbering idiot and zombie fodder or if you become a hardened killer immune to Horror.

Mini games are difficult to generate a sense of suspense because the players have a "God's Eye View" of what's going on. To keep players on the edge of their seats keep the action coming. A "Tense" game should have the players unsure if they will succeed right up to the last turn! PM

You could try giving your players a time limit when it come's to their turn, say about 20 -25 seconds. But when it starts to get more intense during gameplay cut it to 10-15 seconds, causing players make decisions faster or they loose their turn and possibly end up as Zombie Chow......

I have a tiny little egg timer I plan on using I think it lasts for about a minute. EM4 sell it if I remember rightly

I think if you play your games on the hood of a really nice car, in a very bad neighborhood... That will help add 'fear' to the game.

To make it more stressful for my players I made zombies in the game un-killable. The only way to stop one is to cause so much damage against it that it can no longer come for you. This makes for allot of tension and when you play games where players only have so much ammo it makes it that much more stressful. In addition to that anyone who dies in any way WILL return but you aren't sure when. Since we play in WWII just imagine you are the tan commander of a Panther tank and an incoming round hit the tank hard but doesn't penetrate but the radio operator is killed by the impact. Now what do you do? Do you bail out while under fire? Do you keep going and hope he doesn't return until you can escape the firefight? Now that's tension for a gamer and makes for some great and crazy decisions. Another things is that zombies in my game don't use their human senses but have a zombie sense that allows them to hone in on any living creatures within 15" This includes being in a building, bunker, underground anywhere if the zombies sense you they will come for you no matter what just as long as you are within that range. Now with all that against you how would you react in a town full of the undead?
