Pappa Midnight- 01-28-2007

What can I say..........? They are Zombies painted by FG..................Outstanding work as always!!!!!!!! PM

fatgoblin- 02-15-2007

ha! I stole Pappa Midnight's idea! and converted one of copplestone's figures into a preacher! :P

Pappa Midnight- 02-15-2007

........ like I never use anyone else's ideas......... Excellent stuff as always FG! BTW I "used" your idea of mixing flesh tones with black to highlight black. It's a much better effect than using white. So Hah.........! :D Regards PM

fatgoblin- 02-15-2007

haha, well I stole that one too! I remember reading someone (Jenova) mention using fleshtones to highligh black for painting hair and I tried it and then I did that for everything!

auton- 02-15-2007

Nice! I'm trying to hold off ordering any figures at the moment but feeling the urge

Lowtardog- 02-15-2007

Looks great FG and thats a god tip for Black...thanks guys

fatgoblin- 02-15-2007

thanks :D argh, me too! I'm itching to get a set of the savages but hit a problem of no money!

supervike- 02-15-2007

Thats grand! He seems to be a mix of Mel Gibson from the early Lethal Weapons movies and Mel Gibson from SIGNS (where he in fact is a preacher).... Well done. I've experimented with the fleshtones mixed with black for highlighting as well....but haven't been able to iron out the correct mix. Still, I like it as it seems to tone down the black, while still adding color depth.

fatgoblin- 02-15-2007

thanks! The thing I like about the flesh tone is that it creates a warm highlight for the black, as opposed to the blue or whilte/grey ones which generally produce a cool highlight, if that makes sense to you. You might like to try a few different skin tones, I find that the yellower ones work better than the pinkish ones.

Pappa Midnight- 02-15-2007

That's what these groups are all about....stealing.......I mean picking up ideas! Long may it continue! My bank account has also taken a hammering ( wimpering and bloodied!) with a huge influx of........you guessed it ZOMBIES!!!!! All of Zombiesmith's range and all of Alpha Forge's new minis!!! There is a huge pile of unpainted lead staring at me! PM

supervike- 02-15-2007

Thanks FG! I will try the more yellowish tones. Pappa...I too just spent a fortune...but somehow ended up with no zombies...I bought a bunch of Darkson Designs and a bunch of Infinity... I haven't gotten my Alpha Forge zombies yet though... If you want to see huge piles of unpainted lead.... click here. http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=18733 Thats a photo tour of my Hobby room. I'm embarassed to show it, but its theraputic for me! LOL
