Die-Cast Cars
Just picked up some die-cast cars from Toys R Us. They're from the HotWheels "C3 Machines" Range. They are 1:50 scale and are bang on for 28mm gaming. Unfortunately the doors don't open etc. but the detailing is excellent ( Cool sound system in the back of the Chevelle) 1970 Chevelle 1967 Pontiac GTO I'm currently hunting for the '69 Charger! Cheers PM

Ho Ho says I , I am working at Luton airport on Friday and guess what...there is a Toys R us near by :P

NECROSTONE- 08-16-2006

These things are stunning!!! How much were they PM? Did they have much of a selection?

I think I mis-read the logo on the packet. The cars are called " G Machines ". They retail in Toys R us at £3.99. Not bad for the quality of the car! The ones in the range are: '68 Mustang, '71 Challenger, '70 Camaro, '70 Mustang Mach1, '69 Charger, '70 Chevelle, '67 GTO and a '70 Plymouth Hemi-Cuda. They are all "Low-riders" with nice custom interiors. Unfortunately the doors etc. don't open. Still they are very nice models. PM

Ill be there at the weekend. Good work PM Im desperate to get some nice big heavy black vehicles. The kind Umbrella use at the beginning of Resident Evil apocalypse when collecting the scientist and his daughter...Hope they have some of those. Unless anyone knows of where I can get some? or what ype of cars they are?

Pappa Midnight- 08-16-2006

I'm not sure what vehicles you mean but there is a nice Lincoln Stretched Limo by a company called Kinsmart. It says that it's 1:38 scale on the bottom but that's absolute rubbish. It's OK for 28mm miniatures. I bought mine in a local toy store for £1.99 ( it's silver but they do a black one aswell!) The doors all open and so does the sun-roof ( Ideal for a gunner). I'm using it for my " Rock Band's" ride but would look the part for Corporate types. PM

I think there was a series of low rider cars that came with inch high homies as well?

Pappa Midnight- 08-23-2006

Another Die-cast by Hotwheels. It's another Lincoln re-sprayed black for that MIB look! Cheers PM

Sorry bout not reolying earlier to this one PM just been dead to the world. At the begininninininining ( Lord I m tired) of Resident Evil Apocalypse: Umbrella realise the infection is out and the whole city is about to go FUBAR, so they send a convoy of men in black out to retrieve their Scientist boffing type and his daughter. What kind of cars are these please anyone? Does anyone have an idea where I can get the buggers from in a decent scale? Many thanks all of you N

I think they are SUVs or for us Brits People carriers I would keep an eye out in toy shops for 1/43 scale but havent seen any. I just got back form Spain today after my hols and while there aside from Sangria I managed to pick up 3 1950s cars for £3 each and 1/43 to boot. Had to be dragged away or all my money would have gone on them

NECROSTONE- 08-29-2006

Yeah after a long bout on google thats all I kept getting while researching the film...SUV ...no make or model just SUV. Then I went to ebay and well the pickings have been poor. ( Swishes hands about in crazy power rangers fashion) I summon PaPPa MiDNiGht searching power now!!!

Pappa Midnight- 08-29-2006

I felt strangly drawn by forces unknown to find out the identity of a black SUV................ It's a Chevrolet Tahoe ( 2003 model I believe). If in any doubt , here's the vehicle from the film Below I had a look around for die-cast models and CARARAMA produce them in 1:43 scale. The only one I found on Ebay is in the US and it's in WHITE ( could be stripped and repsrayed?) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHEVROLET-TAHOE-SUV-CHEVY-CARARAMA-DIECAST-1-43-WHITE_W0QQitemZ200021441766QQihZ010QQcategoryZ223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Hope that helps! My urge to investigate SUV's has subsided, I return to my painting, confused but otherwise unharmed  PM

Aha! I also found some in the UK. These are a bit expensive ( £5.00). It's near the bottom of the page http://www.toycentre.com/acatalog/Cararama.html Alternatively there is one done up as police vehicle with light bars etc, which is cheaper. http://krwmodels.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=340 Regards PM
