Diary of the Dead Just picked this one up on DVD. I thought the story idea was great.
But there's something not quite Romeroish about it.
Maby it was that all the gore was done by computer, im not quite sure.
There's a lack of good acting in this one, not every one in the movie is a bad actor, just a few, but it's enough.
My personal hero in this movie is a deaf dynamite throwing sickel weilding amish guy who speaks via a small chalkboard.
I think i need to watch this again with the commentary on to a differe'nt view on it.
On another note i just saw Rambo, (I know it's not horror) & it has to be one of the most brutal movie's ive seen in a while. All of the violence is done by computer, but believe me you're gonna love it! It had my girlfriend covering her eye's with a pillow & asking if it was over.
Every time someone was shot it made me go oooooooo that's gotta hurt!
Rent this one!! Like music & blood?? Check out Sweeney Todd. If you can get through the singing, the fountain's of blood from people's neck's make's up for it.

I thought it was a total let down but I think Romero hasn't made a good zombie flick since the original Dawn of the Dead.

I didn't find it to be utter crap, but close. I spend all summer in sickbed, so I got to see my share of crappy films... perhaps that is blurring my vision!
I've come to accept that part of the premise of a zombie flick is bad acting.. there's still a long way to 80'ties horror movie bad acting Wes Craven crap.

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would, now Day of the Dead remake there was a dud
