buildings
Dragged out all my buildings for a photoshoot, just to keep track of what I have. Go take a look! http://wargames.spyz.org/__napnuts/album223

Hey FG, You've got some VERY NICE toys! I always think good scenery really sets off a good games table and provides cover ! I like the combination of plastics, homemades and card buildings. I am especially jealous of the K-line factory as I've been trying to get hold of one for ages. I beleive they've been re-released in the US and come pre-painted. The same people also do a drive-thru diner in the same scale which is awesome ( but very expensive). I'm really stuck for space and although I love buildings , It's storing them I have a problem with! Thanks for sharing. PM

I was wrong about the diner. It is produced by a company called "MTH Rail-King". They make some awesome "o" scale buildings BUT they are REALLY EXPENSIVE! They seem to be big in the US but as usual really hard to find in the UK :( I keep looking on Ebay for cheap ones!!! Here's a pic of the diner. It comes ready made with the cars and even has lighting! PM

Haha, I was lusting after your hospital so thats fair I suppose! The K line stuff are pain in the butt cause they go out of production and hard to find. But they do release the same kit dressed up differently every now and then. My factory is a coke factory! I had to paint over a huge coca cola sign on its side! In certain angles you could still see its shape... Unfortunately I don't do ebay so its even harder for me to get affordable buildings :( So I'm left with getting the cheap plasticville sets. I wonder why the bank and hospital are only released as built up (which are about twice the price of the unbuilt kits). Totally sucks cause even if I buy it I would have to pull it apart first to paint it anyway. MTH Rail-King has got lots of really cool stuff! real expensive too! as you mentioned... I'm particularly lusting after their multi-story and corner buildings for my pulp collection. Can't afford any though Hoping to get some OGR buildings next. Also expensive, but not as. edit: I should add that I'm starting to have problems finding space to put everything too! One of the benefits of the paper terrain though is that you can slot the smaller ones into the bigger ones like a russian doll thing!

Ooh they are all so nice, I have been lusting after the Hospital and Bank and the Fctory is a beaut. I bought a load of Bachmann at Xmas but they seem very slow to release stuff over in the UK

Pappa Midnight- 05-04-2006

Hey Lowtardog, did you get the Bachmann stuff imported or from a UK supplier? If it's a UK supplier would you mind sharing? Regards PM

Lowtardog- 05-04-2006

Hello PM Here is the link, if you search on their page go for Bachmann and chekc the pages amongst the trains are the buildings http://www.ontrackscart.co.uk/orail_quikstore.cgi?search=yes&hits_seen=30&keywords=Bachmann and these are the codes that are O scale as they mix in the lists HO/OOO the following are O scale: 45301 – 45313, 45601 – 45615, 45618, 45621 – 45623, 45975 – 45992. There is another company that sells them but cant find the link. Bachmann themselves are trade only but you can see how slow they are by watching the release date :0( http://www.bachmann.co.uk/prod1.php4?prod_selected=americano&prod=22 They do have some links to retailers which might be useful Regards Karl

Pappa Midnight- 05-04-2006

Thanks for that! The "On Tracks" site seems the best bet (I'll be ordering a few bits soon!!) The links from Bachmann UK are mostly oo scale. :( Regards PM

Lowtardog- 05-04-2006

On the Bachmann site you have to look on the site map(2) then scroll down to Bachmann USA O scale buildings they have the classic kits and the built up kits but to be honest they are the same ones in the On tracks catalogue so I assume they are ordered from there.

I buy mine from Walthers in the US, here. The price isn't that much different. If you pick the cheapest shipping option, its 20% plus $5. But of course if you are unlucky you might get hit for VAT by the customs.

Pappa Midnight- 05-05-2006

Thanks FG, I've been hit by customs a couple of times ( ouch!) so I'll probably try to stick with a UK supplier. Regards PM

I just picked up a couple of the Bachmann buildings from OnTracks. Very speedy delivery from them!

This guy up in Scotland is also very good for those unusual "O" scale buildings. http://www.macsmodels.co.uk/index.htm PM
