basing miniatures for a modern Zombie Invasion Just wondering what everyone likes to do for modern day survivor and zombie miniatures.
I'd like all the minis to be based uniformly.
Any suggestions?

To make it quite quick and easy, I cut out some fine grain sandpaper and put it on top of a GW base. Slap some light grey paint on it and it's lazy man's concrete!

Hi All
I have just started trying to sculpt figures with greenstuff, having mixed too much one day I decided to use the rest on some bases, it was great, easy to get smooth, then simply mark out some flagstones , grey paint and a drybrush et voila!

I quite like the bases that come with the ColdWar Zombies. There are areas of pavement, road, tiles and broken ground.
Having played more "Traditional" wargames for a long time I tend to get stuck into "Rubble and Grass". Not realistic but gives my Zeds some uniformaty.

After looking around a while for some suitable bases that were all the same, I've decided my Cold War zombies will be based on the provided bases on top of nickels. (US)
This gives them the right height as compared to slotta style bases, so if/when I mix those in the guys will all be the same height.
I've also mounted a few COC RAFM minis on nickels as well, for the same reason.
The best part is, they are cheap, at on 5 cents a piece! :D

I did the same thing Phobia, except I used UK pennies.
Works a treat and puts them bang on the same height as the slottas.
Great minds...............

Nah, I'm pretty certain I got the idea after looking around at various cold war zeds painted and based. May have even been your pics... I realized you used SOMETHING under there and nickels are nearly exactly the same size, matching the ones I had seen in the pics...
